How to calculate a product price on Uzum: formula and example

“Cost price × 2” is the most popular and the most dangerous pricing rule. On Uzum, five or six costs are subtracted from revenue, calculated as percentages or per liter. It is better to price from the end: first decide how much profit you need.
Formula
Price = (cost price + logistics) ÷ (1 − commission − advertising share − tax − target margin)
Commission, advertising (DRR), tax and margin are percentages of revenue; logistics and cost price are in UZS.
Example
A product in a 9-liter box, cost price 70,000 UZS:
- logistics: 5,250 + 8 × 250 = 7,250 UZS (fee per liter);
- commission: the rate for your category, 15% in the example;
- advertising: 8% (DRR);
- tax: depends on the regime, 4% in the example;
- target net margin: 20%.
Price = (70,000 + 7,250) ÷ (1 − 0.15 − 0.08 − 0.04 − 0.20) = 77,250 ÷ 0.53 ≈ 146,000 UZS.
Check: 146,000 − 70,000 − 7,250 − 21,900 (commission) − 11,680 (advertising) − 5,840 (tax) = 29,330 UZS, about 20%.
If you price the same product at “cost price × 2” = 140,000, the margin falls to 16%. At 100,000 — a loss.
What not to forget
- Returns. If the category has many returns, build a reserve into the margin.
- Paid storage. With turnover above 60 days — a fee per liter per day, details.
- Payout schedule. Daily withdrawal is 1.5%, weekly 1% — this also comes out of the margin.
- Promo codes and promotions. With a promo code, the commission is taken from the full price — advertising and promotions.
Competitor prices
The formula gives the minimum price. Test it against the market: if the average price in the niche is noticeably lower, you need to cut your cost price or look for another niche. MARGN market analytics shows category and competitor prices, and the profit calculator is for a quick estimate.
The commission rate depends on the category and is calculated automatically in the Uzum cabinet — check your category's rate before setting a price.
